Default abundances and depletions

The elements are assumed to have standard solar abundances. The values were taken from:
Asplund, M., Grevesse N., Sauval A.J., 2004, astroph/0410214 v2.
The values are shown in the table below. The standard values for the depletion were taken from:
Savage B.D., Sembach K.R., 1996, ARA&A 34, 279.
The values from Table 5 for cool diffuse clouds towards zeta Ophiuchi were used. For elements showing an enhancement w.r.t. the solar abundance, the depletion was set to 0. Upper limits were skipped. However, for many elements no depletion values have been determined. Savage & Sembach (1996) note that there is a fairly strong correlation between the depletion and the condensation temperature (Tc). Using the data from Savage & Sembach (1996), the following fitting formula was derived:
depl = 1 - exp[ (Tc/1300)2 ] dex.

The data from Savage & Sembach (1996) together with the fit are shown in the figure below.

Plot of depletion vs Tc

The fit was used to derive an estimate of the standard depletion for all elements for which no direct observational data exists, using the 50% condensation temperatures from Table 8 in:

Lodders K., 2003, ApJ, 591, 1220.
The resulting values are shown in italics in the table below. The resulting estimates for V and Te are consistent with the upper limits given in Savage & Sembach (1996).

For elements not listed below (these are elements that don't have (semi-) stable isotopes), the abundance is set to -9.99, and the depletion to 0.
